Guest Information

To help ensure a seamless and worry-free boarding experience, all essential information regarding our most frequently asked questions, is outlined below.

General Housekeeping and Boarding Requirements

Vaccination Requirements

All Guests must be fully vaccinated and currently up to date with a minimum of a C5 Vaccination. 
Unvaccinated dogs or those that are overdue must have their vaccines updated and a booster course completed a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to boarding. 
All Vaccinations must be current and up to date for the duration of your booking.
Current up to date documentation showing proof of such vaccination must be provided at the time of booking.

Parasite Prevention

All Guests must be up to date with regular flea and worm treatments. 
If not regularly treated for fleas and worms, Guests must be treated with a recognised flea and worm treatment, no later than one (1) week prior to
 boarding with proof of such treatment to be provided upon GFKR request. 
If Guests are found to have evidence of flea and worms during their stay, GFKR will treat them with an appropriate treatment with such costs of the treatment charged to the Owner.

Behavioural Problems

Owners must notify GFKR if Guests are known to be aggressive towards humans and/or other dogs.
Owners must notify GFKR if Guests have any phobias or fears such as storms or loud noises or are known to dig holes, jump high fences or display any other regular behavioural concerns.
Dangerous and/or aggressive dogs will not be accepted. 
Any dangerous and/or aggressive behaviour towards people and/or other animals will not be tolerated.

Medical Conditions

Owners must notify GFKR of any potential or current ailments and medical conditions, physical limitations or allergies that Guests may have.

Owners must notify GFKR prior to Check In if Guests have recently been unwell, have had a new medical diagnosis or have sustained a new injury where they require additional care.

Any Guests presenting with symptoms of Canine Cough, Canine Parvovirus. Ringworm or any other contagious  disease will not be accepted.

Dietary Requirements

All Guests are fed twice daily with super premium, veterinary approved Royal Canin dry biscuits with a small serving of Uncle Geoff's Homemade Meat, Veg and Rice Stew.

If Guests have specific dietary needs, are prone to a sensitive stomach with sudden dietary changes, require a particular diet or you just prefer to BYO, Owners can supply their own meals and/or biscuits and GFKR will happily feed this with no additional charges incurred to the Owner.

Veterinary Care

If a Guest shows symptoms of ill health, becomes unwell, requires medical attention or there is cause for concern with regards to their health, Veterinary advice will be sought.

Owners are asked to nominate their preferred Veterinary Clinic, if they are not contactable Guests will be taken to the Veterinary Clinic of GFKR choice or the emergency after hours Veterinarian.

Any costs involved with seeking medical treatment or attention for a Guest are the sole responsibility of the Owner. 

Preparing to Board

Book an annual health check or review with your regular Veterinarian.

Organise a meet and greet or short stay prior to your booking.

Ensure all contact details, council and microchip records are up-to-date.

Familiarise yourself with our Terms and Conditions.

Complete any additional information or intake forms as requested.

Ensure you have enough medication and food (if BYO) for the duration of your stay.

Inform your regular Veterinarian, provide consent, instructions and/or finances.

Secure your booking by paying any deposits required.

What to Bring

Copies of current and up-to-date vaccination and sterilisation records.

Proof of external and internal parasite prevention.

All medication and/or supplements in their original packaging, clearly labelled with dosage and Veterinarian instructions.

Contact details of a local emergency contact.

An appropriate fitting collar, lead and/or harness with proper forms of identification.

Food and/or meals in their original packaging , clearly labelled with instructions.

Favourite snacks and/or treats.

Grooming brushes, clothing, jackets, a toothbrush and/or toileteries.

Familiar scented blanket, t-shirt, bedding or other comforting reminder of home.

Favourite play, tug or chew toys.

 

(Please ensure that all personal items are things that you don't mind being chewed or dirty and are clearly labelled with your dogs name, surname and instructions if applicable)

Bookings, Deposits and Cancellations

Peak Period refers to holiday periods, such as, Christmas and Easter, school holidays, public holidays and

long weekends.

All Peak Period bookings require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.

All Non Peak Period bookings require a 50% deposit at the time of arrival.

All Peak Period bookings are to be paid in full at the time of Check In.

All Non Peak Period bookings are to be paid in full at the time of Check Out.

All deposits are refundable and/or transferable up until 30 days prior to date of Check In.

No refunds or transfers will be issued for Peak Period bookings if cancelled within 30 days of Check In.
